The MindBites Posse and TechCrunch Austin
by Ellen in MindBites News and Notes / 09.26.08
The TechCrunch event started over at the AT & T Executive Education and Conference center at the University of Texas at Austin with a panel discussion about grassroots marketing. There were 20 people on the panel which was moderated by Erick Schonfeld. First let me say that I was blown away by the AT &T Conference Center. I won’t comment on the panel except to say that there were a lot of panel members. I would like to give a shout out to my friend Jeff Dachis for keeping it real on the panel.
The MindBites team hit the Austin Tech Crunch (+ Austin Ventures) Meetup at Pangea and was immediately accused of being part of a posse. Hmmm…which definition did they mean?
pos·se
- group of people summoned by a sheriff to aid in law enforcement.
- A search party.
- A gang involved in crimes such as running guns and illegal narcotics trafficking.
- Slang A group of friends or associates.
I am hoping that they were going for #4 here although #3 would be quite exciting.

MindBites.com was well represented at the event and we had a good time meeting new people. We particularly enjoyed talking with Daddy Clay from DadLabs.com , our friends from Porter Novelli and Thom Singer, the networking madman.

When we sat down on what appeared to be an open couch, we were told by KeyVault that we could sit there but we had to listen to the quick pitch. We were like flies caught in fly paper but we liked the approach. Very effective.
After awhile, we started to get delirious:
All in all, the event was a good time and worthwhile to come out in force with our MindBites Posse in full effect.
